
THE Tanzanian government has embarked on evidence-based decision-making by equipping monitoring and evaluation specialists with skills to assess the impact of agricultural programmes under the Agricultural Sector Development Programme Phase Two (ASDP II).
This is being implemented by the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), which has continued with the third phase of capacity building on how to conduct programme and project evaluations through the ASDP II.
The Director for Government Performance Monitoring and Evaluation at the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), Ms Sakina Mwinyimkuu who officiated the workshop training today, March 16, 2026, in Dodoma, said the initiative aims to equip Monitoring and Evaluation experts with a better understanding and practical skills for assessing various projects and programmes implemented in public institutions.
